Welcome to IIT Kharagpur!

IITKGP welcomes you on your new journey to study, explore and learn. Foreign nationals can either apply for Degree Programs (Master/Doctoral) or Non-Degree Programs (Course work / Research not leading to a degree) on this portal. Admission into IIT Kharagpur's undergraduate programs is conducted by the Joint Admission Board.

We encourage you to explore the appropriate Department/School/Center first. If you are interested in research, please start a dialogue with potential mentors. If you are interested in coursework, please find out which courses are being offered during your visit and what are their pre-requisites.

Once you have decided, please fill up the appropriate application form (degree/ non-degree). Please note the following points:

1. Register on the online application portal link.
2. Follow the instructions carefully for filling up the application form given inside the link.
3. Personal details must be as per your passport.
4. Make sure that you have all the supporting documents/academic transcripts/passport ready with you in PDF format before you starting to fill the form and the information provided by you is correct and complete in all aspects. Please note that we do not accept incomplete forms for further processing and in such cases will delay in processing the applications.
5. The application fee is INR 500 for all candidates except those applying through ICCR / EDCIL-SII PROGRAM/ASEAN- DIA program to IITKgp as this fee is exempted for them. However, please ensure to mention your respective ICCR/ASEAN-DIA/SII Application number as reference in the space provided inside the form to get this waiver without fail.

Special Note:

1. All documents should be properly scanned and saved in PDF format ONLY. Please name the files in their respective certificate name underscore your name. For e.g., If you have to scan and save your B.Tech certificate: First, scan then save in the pdf format then name the file as "B.Tech certificate_YOUR NAME"
2. Each certificate or supporting doc should be in an English-translated version and named properly in order to avoid any confusion.

NON-DEGREE PROGRAMS

You may apply for the Non-Degree Programs (Course work / Research not leading to a degree) through the online application portal.
